|| GARDEN | Container ponds

Container water gardens or tiny ponds are perfect for patios, decks and balconies.  Creating a pond in a pot is a simple way to add water into a garden scheme, no matter how limited the space is. Here are a few of my favourite ideas:

|| COLOUR PALETTE 1 | AMBER

During the first part of the year, when the Christmas decorations have been packed away, rooms can seem flat and dull. Soft furnishings, ornaments, flowers and lighting are an easy way to inject warmth and enliven a scheme.  This is the first of my suggested colour palettes using warm yellow ochres, rich amber, gold set against metal greys of zinc, pewter and nickel.  These are easily teamed with oyster beige and whites enabling them to fit into any neutral scheme. KEY ELEMENTS:   1.Textures: furs,  cracked and scratched surfaces, velvet, silk 2.Patterns:   geodes, rock strata, crystals, reptile,  woodgrain   3.Finishes: gilded and reflective surfaces, translucence, lustre, matt and dry finishes Above image: SCDA Architects  contemporary living room featuring greyed oak shelving and concealed lighting   Above images: 1. || AIR PLANTS | TILLANDSIA

 TILLANDSIA is a genus of around 650 species of evergreen, perennial flowering plants in the Bromeliaceae  family . They are more commonly known as AIR PLANTS because of their natural propensity to cling wherever conditions permit: tree branches, bare rocks etc. Most Tillandsia are EPIPHYTES translating to 'upon a plant' and do not grow in soil. They can be simply glued in position, tucked into a frame or just placed in a pot and therefore make for decorative and easy-to-care-for houseplants. Here are a few of my favourite inspirational pictures. Well-liked Styles of Bathroom Design | Popular|Well-known|Well-liked Styles of Bathroom Design|Style|Design and style Well-liked Styles of Bathroom Design The bathroom has come along way during the past one hundred years. Once only a basic tub set in entrance of the living room fire and filled with buckets of water, the bathing experience is now a luxury in almost every western home. Back then, a "bathroom" was something only the wealthy and privileged could afford to have in their house. This was this trend which lead to the mass production of bathroom products. The Edwardian and Even victorian styles of the time are still a popular choice today. They look exquisite in a villa or cottage bathroom, and never loose their appeal in conditions of design. Today, thanks a lot to advanced plumbing and modern technology, the restroom may well have evolved as much as it can. With luxury steam rooms and hydrotherapy baths, it's difficult to imagine how bat...
